Terms of Service & Refund Policy

#1. Legal Entity & Agreement Overview

ipscope (https://ipscope.io) is a software product and commercial IP intelligence service owned and operated by Badele LLC (https://badele.co), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States (“Badele LLC”, “ipscope”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account, generating an API key, purchasing a subscription or prepaid wallet credits, or downloading any database snapshot from ipscope.io, you (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

#2. Scope of Services

Badele LLC provides programmable IP address intelligence through two primary delivery mechanisms:

• Real-Time Lookup & Bulk Enrichment API (api.ipscope.io): Low-latency HTTP/JSON endpoints returning declared and physical geolocation, Autonomous System (ASN) and BGP routing metadata, WHOIS/RDAP organization records, and privacy/anonymizer detection (VPN, residential proxy, Tor, hosting/datacenter, and scanner activity).
• Downloadable Database Snapshots (download.ipscope.io): Compiled binary radix-tree (.mmdb), compressed CIDR table (.csv.gz), and columnar (.parquet) snapshots for local, zero-network-hop lookups inside your own infrastructure.

#3. Account Registration & API Key Security

To access authenticated API endpoints or download database snapshots, you must register an account using a valid email address or supported OAuth provider. You agree to:

• Maintain the confidentiality of your API keys (ips_live_...) and signed download URLs.
• Rotate or revoke compromised API keys immediately via the API Keys section of your dashboard.
• Accept responsibility for all API lookup volume and account activity authenticated under your API keys prior to revocation.

#4. Subscriptions, Prepaid Wallet & Billing

All commercial charges are denominated in United States Dollars (USD) and processed securely by our merchant payment processor, Stripe, Inc. Credit card statements and tax invoices may display IPSCOPE or BADELE LLC.

4.1 Recurring Subscriptions & Automatic Renewal

Paid API plans (Starter, Pro, Business) and downloadable MMDB/CSV database subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual cycle. Unless you cancel before your renewal date, your subscription automatically renews for successive periods of the same duration at the then-current rate.

4.2 Mid-Cycle Plan Upgrades (Prorated Billing)

When you upgrade from a lower paid tier to a higher tier mid-cycle (for example, from Starter to Pro), we calculate a daily credit for the unused days remaining in your current billing cycle and charge only the prorated difference immediately via Stripe Checkout. Your existing billing period dates and accumulated lookup usage for the current cycle are preserved while your quota ceiling increases immediately.

4.3 Prepaid Wallet Credits & Pay-As-You-Go Lookups

Both Free and Paid tier accounts may top up a prepaid wallet balance at any time (minimum top-up of $5.00 USD). Wallet balances are tracked with micro-USD precision (1 USD = 1,000,000 micro-USD). When your monthly included lookup allowance is exhausted and wallet overage is enabled, additional API lookups continue automatically against your prepaid wallet balance on a Pay-As-You-Go basis ($0.50 USD per 10,000 lookups) subject to your active plan’s rate limits and licensed field families. All prepaid wallet top-ups are final and non-refundable.

4.4 Taxes & VAT / Tax IDs

Prices listed on ipscope.io are exclusive of applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST unless stated otherwise. Business customers may enter their company name and VAT/Tax ID directly during Stripe Checkout or update them at any time via the Stripe Customer Billing Portal.

#5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We design our billing model to be transparent and self-service. Every feature can be tested on the Free tier (50,000 lookups/month + ipscope Lite database) or the live interactive demo prior to purchasing a paid plan.

5.1 How to Cancel a Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time without contacting support by navigating to Dashboard → Settings → Billing and clicking Manage in Stripe. Cancellation stops all future recurring charges, and your account retains full access to your paid tier through the end of the current paid billing period.

5.2 Non-Refundable Items: Downloaded Databases & Prepaid Wallet Credits

Downloadable Databases: Consistent with industry standards for commercial IP intelligence datasets, compiled .mmdb, .csv.gz, and .parquet files are DRM-free, redistributable digital assets delivered immediately in full upon download. Once a commercial database snapshot has been downloaded using your account or API key, the purchase is final and non-refundable.

Prepaid Wallet Credits: All one-time prepaid wallet credit purchases (Pay-As-You-Go top-ups) are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable once credited to your account ledger, whether partially spent or unspent, except where required by mandatory applicable law or in the case of a verifiable system double-charge.

5.3 How to Request a Refund & Dispute Resolution

To request an eligible refund or report an unexpected charge, email contact@ipscope.io with your Account ID or Stripe receipt number. We review all billing inquiries within one (1) business day. You agree to contact us to resolve any billing issue before initiating a chargeback or dispute with your card issuer; fraudulent or bad-faith chargebacks result in immediate termination of API keys and account access.

#6. Data Licensing & Acceptable Use

• Commercial API & Paid Database License: Subject to timely payment of applicable fees, Badele LLC grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to query the API and deploy downloaded MMDB/CSV/Parquet snapshots across your internal servers, edge workers, and customer-facing applications. No public attribution is required on paid plans.
• ipscope Lite Attribution (CC BY 4.0): Use of the free ipscope Lite database or free tier requires visible attribution linking to https://ipscope.io as detailed on our Licensing page.
• No Unlicensed Resale: Unless covered by a written Enterprise Redistribution Agreement with Badele LLC, you may not resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute raw database files or offer a standalone proxy wrapper that directly competes with the ipscope Lookup API.
• Prohibited Conduct: You may not use the Services to stalk, harass, or physically locate natural persons, conduct denial-of-service attacks, bypass rate limits via multi-account abuse, or violate applicable export control or data protection laws.

#7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

IP geolocation, BGP routing inference, and privacy/anonymizer detection are probabilistic engineering estimates derived from public registries and active network measurements. THE SERVICES AND DATASETS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR 100% GEOLOCATION ACCURACY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BADELE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE. IN NO EVENT SHALL BADELE LLC’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO BADELE LLC IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY (OR $100.00 USD IF YOU HAVE USED ONLY THE FREE TIER).

#8. Governing Law & Legal Contact

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wyoming, USA.
